Abstract

An excavation in the garden of Stretham Rectory revealed the foundations of two buildings, one of which appears to be directly associated with the upstanding rectory. It is likely that both structures are earlier phases of the rectory, one of them possibly an early medieval parsonage itself. Roman, Saxon and early medieval pottery were discovered, along with a Roman coin.
